faqs
1. What should I wear
Anything that you feel comfortable in! I need your feet hip-width apart with access to your calves and ankles as well as your bare feet, so you may wish to wear loose trousers or leggings. However, if this isn’t your style there are blankets available.
2. How long does a treatment take
The first session is up to 75 minutes as we’ll spend time on your consultation with a 45 minute active investigation treatment. Afterwards we’ll leave some time to discuss sensitivities that were found and lifestyle suggestions that may help.
Subsequent sessions will involve your bespoke treatment plan, they are one hour and follow a similar format.
3. What will I feel like after
Different reactions following reflexology are normal. You may feel calm, relaxed and rebalanced, while some may feel a surge of energy or an emotional release.
Your body will be busy eliminating the toxins that have been released by your treatment so make sure you keep yourself hydrated afterwards to flush them out.
4. Can I come for just one treatment
Of course! Whether you’re needing a boost of energy, some soothing ‘me’ time, or are looking to nurture yourself during an overwhelming or anxious period, reflexology is a fantastic therapy for calming and rebalancing.
5. Who shouldn’t have reflexology
If you currently have unhealed wounds, active gout, deep-vein thrombosis, broken or fractured bones in your feet or legs; or have a high fever or contagious disease I cannot treat you.
6. I’m trying to conceive - can I have reflexology
Absolutely. For women, reflexology can support their reproductive system and balance the endocrine system- regulating your periods and creating a healthy environment in which to conceive. Reflexology also supports the male reproductive system, and can be used to improve the quality and quantity of sperm produced.
It is safe to have reflexology if you’re trying to conceive through IVF, IUI or ICSI. It can help to prepare the uterus so that the environment for embryo transfer is as favourable as possible.
Reflexology can help induce labour naturally or bring on labour in the later stages of pregnancy from week 38. Many women find reflexology beneficial throughout their pregnancy, including postnatal treatment.
7. Is there an age limit?
Reflexology is for everyone, there is no age limit. However, I do not practice on babies or young children. If you’re bringing a teenager under 18, a parent needs to be in the room for the treatment.
Cancellation policy
Life happens and sometimes things don’t go to plan!
You are welcome to reschedule or cancel for free up to 36 hours before your appointment (I need more than 24 hours to avoid room costs but 48 hours seems unfair).
If you reschedule or cancel within 24 hours you'll be charged £15.
If you reschedule or cancel within 12 hours you’ll be charged the full amount of the session.
For workshops, reschedule or cancel for free up to 24 hours before. After that, you’ll be charged the full amount of the session. Please arrive promptly, I will be upstairs beginning the session and may not be able to leave to answer the door.
For treatments, if you arrive late that will come out of your session time. I won’t be able to carry out a session in less than 30 minutes, so I count no shows as 30 minutes.
